How Do I Apply To Have a Trade Stand at Belsay International Horse Trials?
Applications for 2027 Trade Stands will be made through our website. Simply complete and submit the online application form with your business and trading details.
Once we have received your application, a member of our team will be in touch regarding the next steps and any additional documentation required. This may include your Health & Safety information, Risk Assessment and a copy of your Public Liability Insurance.

When do Applications Open and Close?
Applications for 2027 Trade Stands open on 1 October 2026 and close on 31 March 2027.
We recommend applying as early as possible to secure your preferred trade stand space, as availability may be limited.
Successful applicants will begin receiving confirmation from January 2027.
Where are the Trade Stands Located?
Our Trade Stands are located across several key areas of the Belsay Horse Trials site, providing traders with the opportunity to connect with visitors throughout the event.
Trade Stand locations include:
- Womble Bond Dickinson International Arena
- Coalburn Arena and Swanstead Arena
- The Water Jump
- Food Court
When completing your application, you will have the opportunity to indicate your preferred location. While we will do our best to accommodate your request, please note that all final stand locations are allocated at the discretion of the Belsay Horse Trials team and are subject to availability and the overall event layout.

How much does it cost to Trade at Belsay Horse Trials?

What is the difference between Shedding and Pitch?
A Pitch is an outdoor trade space where you can set up your own gazebo, marquee or other suitable structure. The size of your pitch will depend on the space you have booked.
Shedding/Tentage is a designated trade space that includes a pre-existing structure, providing an alternative to bringing your own marquee or gazebo. Shedding also includes flooring, making it a convenient option for traders looking for a ready-to-use space.
When completing your application, please select the option that best suits your business and trading requirements.
When can I set up and take down my stand?
Trade stand set-up will strictly take place on Wednesday 12 May 2027, between 9am and 9pm. Please ensure you arrive within these times, as access outside of the allocated set-up period may not be available.
Trade stand take-down will commence from 6pm on Sunday 16 May 2027. Stands must not be dismantled or removed before this time, as this can impact the experience and safety of visitors and other traders.
Is Electricity Available?
Hook up is not included. It is available at an additional cost of £125 (including Vat).
Are Banner Rails Avaiable to Hire?
Yes, Banner Rails are available to hire at an additional cost of £24 + VAT.
You can request Banner Rails as part of your Trade Stand application.
How Many Tickets will I Receive With My Trade Stand?
The number of tickets allocated to your Trade Stand will be based on the size of your stand and your estimated staffing requirements, as provided on your application.
When completing your application, please ensure you include an accurate estimate of the number of staff members who will require access. Our team will review your requirements and confirm your ticket allocation as part of the application process.
Can I Request A Specific Location On Site?
Yes. When completing your Trade Stand application, you will have the opportunity to request your preferred location on site.
We will always do our best to accommodate your preference; however, please note that specific locations cannot be guaranteed. Final stand positions are allocated by the Belsay Horse Trials team, taking into consideration availability, the overall site layout and the needs of the event.

How Many Visitors Do We Expect over the Duration of the Event?
Belsay Horse Trials attracts a large and engaged audience of equestrian enthusiasts, competitors, families and spectators throughout the event.
We expect approximately 15 000 visitors across the duration of the event, providing Trade Stand exhibitors with an excellent opportunity to showcase their products and connect directly with potential customers.
With visitors attending across multiple days and throughout the various areas of the event, Trade Stands benefit from strong exposure and the opportunity to engage with a diverse audience.
Is Wi-Fi Available On Site?
Yes, Wi-Fi is available on site for Trade Stand exhibitors.
The Wi-Fi is provided for business purposes only, including processing sales and promoting your business through social media. It is not intended for personal use or general internet consumption.
Details on how to access the Wi-Fi will be provided to you on arrival at Belsay Horse Trials.
Is Overnight Security Provided?
No, overnight security is not provided for individual Trade Stands. Traders are responsible for securing their own stock, equipment and valuables when their stand is unattended.
Belsay International Horse Trials cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage to traders’ property.
